Between the TrendsLabs

After the Nokia TrendsLab in Germany, I´ve been working in London, going for long walks in the Hyde Park (which is magical at sunset, especially the Serpentine lake!), hired a new assistant, renewed my resident parking permit (again!), had a fun night out with my team and the retail team shooting pool at the Elbow Room and dining at a very familiar Italian restaurant Casa Frattini (learnt that if I´m drinking I really need to stick to vodka to avoid a major & painful hangover the next day...), visited the beatiful Colombia Road flower market in East-London (http://www.columbia-flower-market.freewebspace.com/), got addicted to Ballykissangels (old Irish TV soap), and travelled to Finland for 3 weeks.

In Finland I´ve spent super quality time in my house taking care of the garden, planning more work around the house, celebrated couple of birthdays (yes, still counting those!), planted flowers, even watched the Eurovision song contest afterwards (I just had to see how Finland did with the production of the show and how the cutie-pie Mikko did as a presenter :) , seen Pirates of the Caribean with Konu, and for those who managed to read this list of all the way here, the real news; I´ve now also got a job in Finland and will be moving back = GOING HOME in July!!

It´s been in my mind and thoughts since last autumn and I´ve been trying to convince our HR that I could continue with my current job but out of Finland as I really think I now have my dream job. Unfortunately due to various reason, this was not possible and now I have found another job within Nokia Multimedia. The new job is also very exciting and interesting with good people around me. Quite looking forward to it. And finally living in my own house with my family around me!! Can´t wait.

On Friday 1.6.07 I flew to Vilnius, Lithuania, to check out the 2nd Nokia TrendsLab this year. It was good to see some old and new colleagues and the event was great as well (eventhough this time even I thought the sound levels were too high, we all in the VIP area thought so :)) Here are some pics from Vilnius:

Dinner at restaurant Stikliu Alude with Joanna, Jeff, Anna, Kirsi, Eija, Kati, me, Malcom, Lasse and Polish lady who´s name slipped my mind :) Lovely potate pancakes with salmon roe, njam!

Me with the Lithuanian marketing manager, Raivara, who is the best host ever!

Local MTV had an activation corner for the teens to show off :)

Jeff, the father of this year´s concept, shooting evidence of the event.

Now I´m getting busy organising my move back to Finland; just ordered some furniture that I want to take back with me, trying to figure out how to best drive my own car back to Finland (all volunteers to join me for the drive, pls sign here!!!) etc etc. I can´t believe I only have 3-4 weekends left in London!!!!!

Hope you´re all well and see you soon!!
