Konsta´s Confirmation

I can´t believe, Konsta, my godson, is almost 15 and had he´s confirmation on Sunday 10.6.07. He´s absolutely my baby and favourite guy in the world. In Finland the confirmation means that you are old enough to confirm that you want to belong to the church and that means in practise that you can then have your first communion and get married in a church.

I was a very proud aunt and it was also good to see the extended family at the party afterwards. It was also a rare opportunity to see my ex-ex-ex fiancee, Eki, for the first time in years (we grew up together and were together for 10 years... but been apart for 10 years now as well). He´s also Konsta´s godfather but due to various reasons, hasn´t been able to stay much in touch with me or my family. It was really great to see him. Even Konsta said to me on a quite moment when I was taking some photos of him at the chuch yard, that it was nice that his party was bringing people together after a long time. He´s such a sweet boy.

After the great, sunny day, it was time to head my Hertz car to the airport and fly to London, for the last time as a resident of the UK :)
