Guilty pleasures
Saturday 24.2.07 was a perfect day in London: I had lunch with Esther and Moyeen at the riverbank close to London Bridge, we had a little champagne to celebrate Esther´s birthday, bite to eat, good company.... sometimes life just so nice.
After the luncheon I rushed back to Notting Hill for a massage and it was one of the best ones ever! The masseur had a very interesting technique. I would have loved to have seen what she did (I think she used her full arm...) as she seemed to have hands everywhere on my back. It was heaven!
In the evening it was time for some Guilty Pleasures. It´s a theme night in a night club called Koko in Camden Town (www.koko.uk.com ). The idea is to play all night songs that you would never admit to listening to. It apparently started as a feature in a cool radio show where the DJ would play once in a show his guilty pleasure song and the phone lines would go mad as everyone wanted to share theirs. This then developed into a radio show and into to a club night and so on. It was a sold out night so we got there early. Afdhel from my team was getting the people together and organised. He is my ultimate London social guide and a cool guy! The music was really cheesy from Wham to stuff that I´ve never heard of even in the elevators... It was ok and we were dancing, drinking etc but at the end, we all agreed that it just didn´t pick up. Af and his friends had been there the year before and apparently this year was not as good as the last. It was bit older and too "hen-nighty", apparently. Well, it was an interesting night out and the place itself, Koko, was really cool. Definitely want to go back and check out a band or 2 there.
